Central Management Services is a diverse branch providing strategic planning, financial and administrative services for Municipal Affairs.  Through Shared Services Agreements CMS also provides support to the Ministry of First Nations and Métis Relations, the Office of the Provincial Secretary and the Provincial Capital Commission.

CMS is further organized into several units: 

Financial Services

Provides a wide variety of functions including professional accounting advice, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, delegated signing authorities and service agreements.

Financial Planning

Responsible for budget development and fiscal forecasting, as well as other services such as accommodation/facilities management and organizational charts.

Corporate Planning

Provides strategic planning/reporting and Freedom of Information services.

Information Technology

Liason between the ministries and the Information Technology Office and provides business continuity planning.

Administration

Conducts broad spectrum administrative duties for the ministries such as records transfer coordination, boardroom bookings, telephone support and directory management.

The above are samples of some of the larger responsibilities of each unit and are by no means inclusive.  CMS provides a wide range of services that are integral to the day-to-day running of the ministries that it encompasses.
